Nurse Position Details

Position Description
Register Nurse is a member of a specialized team whose goal is to improve individuals’ quality of life through the provision of evidenced-based outpatient treatments. Plans, organizes, execute, and directs nursing care practices for KM-Inc facilities; coordinates and makes recommendations involving the totality of the agency; provides treatment to intellectually and/or developmentally disabled individuals in a residential and/or in-home setting.
Position Duties
Register Nurse’s duties include, but not limited to:
- Monitor and evaluate individuals conditions.
- Act as a liaison between Doctors and KM-Inc.
- Maintains individual records
- Motivate and redirect the behavior of individuals with any of a variety of mental disorders.
- Initiate emergency interventions for medical emergency.
- Plan, implement and/or evaluate prevention activities.
- Conduct health screening and assessment.
- Coordinate individual care with other health professionals to improve health.
- Observe individual and family health awareness.
- Counsel and educate individuals, staff, family and friends.
- Collaborate with physicians, office staff and ancillary departments.
- Sustain objectivity in decision-making, utilizing facts to support decisions.
- Support the mission statement, policies and procedures of the KM-Inc.
- Achieve ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies.
- Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
- Maintain knowledge of mental health, mental illness, and appropriate manner to document concerns.
- Respond to crisis situations regarding resident behaviors.
- Models appropriate behavior interventions for LVN/CNA/Unlicensed Personnel.
- Train LVN/CNA on comprehending the importance of mental health and crisis safety (Seeking Safety Training).
- Participate in on-going training for continuous competence.
- Participates in an interdisciplinary team to help manage resident medical, dental, and psychiatric needs.
- Other duties as assigned by Program Director, Operations Director, or Delegating RN.
Requirements
RN candidates must meet the following requirements:
- 18 years or older
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree or equivalent.
- Have at least 5 years’ experience
- Certified copy of a three-year driving record from the DMV.
- Ability to pass a drug screen, physical exam, and a criminal background check.
- Ability to work in a residential and non-residential setting.
Required License or Certification
Nurse candidates must have the following:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Current Automotive Insurance
- Current Vehicle Inspection and Registration.
